Issue with AOL account access using Thunderbird

To Whom It May Concern:

AOL has made changes to its security access that took effect after 20 October. Now Thunderbird has been unable to access an existing AOL account. According to the instructions on the AOL site for Thunderbird, the account should be removed from Thunderbird and then re-entered.

After removing the AOL from Thunderbird, Create New Account was used to re-enter the AOL account. Thunderbird made contact with the AOL server, but couldn't complete the process.

Now here's the problem; rather than continue the new account creation "CANCEL" was selected. Than the Create New Account process was restarted, however after clicking on "DONE" Thunderbird said the account already existed, but nowhere in Thunderbird is the IMAP account displayed; no folder.

Bottom-line; there is no account to remove, and no way to re-enter. Apparently, on "CANCEL" Thunderbird still entered data into it's database, but did not actually create an account.

How do I purge the information from the database so I can try again to re-enter the account?
