Firefox slows several times a day

I will be using Firefox regularly all day. After a while FF slows and slows until it stops working at all. This happens several times a day.

To fix this issue I exit FF and reload and the problem is gone for awhile and then it reappears.

I already refreshed FF. This issue has persisted both before and after the refresh. I did NOT add any extra add-ons. I refreshed FF solely to speed up the loading process, not for this.
