Thunderbird update v78 errors with unsupported protocol
Good Evening - I am a thunderbird user for 15years now and have never had a problem until v78! This update was automatically installed on my PC, without my knowledge, during the first week of August and I have been unable to log on to my server since, with a message stating that there is an error with my server protocols. So, I can neither download incoming nor send outgoing. I have tried every possible server setting to no avail. I want to ask if there is any chance of rolling back to the previous v68, which worked just fine? Or can you suggest what steps I can take to get my email operational again.
Many thanks Phil

Your mail server probably is attempting to connect using SSLv3 and TLSv1 which are old and no longer support, according to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1656742

Thank you. In the short term, I have my Thunderbird back up and running by setting the security to 'None' on both incoming and outgoing mail servers and by referencing my previous Tb profile. It is all working ok so I guess the problem is solved sufficiently to investigate with my ISP why the problem occurred in the first place and what they can do about it.
