What happens now when you hit a PDF attachment link? Does it open directly into Adobe or another PDF app? Or nothing happens?? Any luck if you long-press the link?

I get the preview, but can't download it, I get this from Adobe

Do you have a link to the page that you are downloading the .pdf from?

This will help us to try this here and hopefully find a solution for you.

Hi, I've tried downloading pdf attachments on emails from 2 different sources, one gives me an error message from Adobe as the attached screenshot, the other opens a different app (Navionics for some reason!). Regards

I don't know what mail site you're using, but let me use Outlook as an example. In Firefox on desktop, Outlook uses their own in-page previewer for PDF attachments instead of downloading the PDF to Firefox to show in the built-in viewer. If that is happening on Firefox for Android on tablets, then the PDF probably needs to be saved by the browser before it can be opened because it is a "blob" that is generated by Microsoft's viewer code.

How do I tell firefox for android to save the PDF?

Android might offer an option to save a file instead of opening it in a default app. I don't know whether there is such an option for PDFs or whether it would be more inconvenient than useful.

Within Firefox, often a long-press on a link provides an option to save the linked file. But if there isn't a link or it runs a script, you may be restricted to what the page offers.

I don't know what's happened but up to 3 days ago I just clicked on the link and the attachment opened with Adobe. The only thing I can think is that I've inadvertently changed a setting in either firefox or outlook mail. Any suggestions?

I've just tried it in Opera and the file downloads and opens o.k. so firefox must be different.

If you long press on the link to the .pdf file you should be able to save it to your device and open it from the Downloads folder.

Hi, when I long click on it I get three options, preview, download or save to onedrive. Up to a few days ago if I clicked on the attachment it automatically downloaded to my downloads folder and opened. Now I just get the error message.

If you have to, but please make sure it is a link that does not require any user credentials to access.
