I'm using TB 68.5.0 (32-bit) It's linked to a microsoft exchange account. TB is showing over 27,000 messages in my inbox. How do i control the amount of messages or a date range. I expect the amount of mail is what is causing deletions to take so long.

I want to keep the emails on the Exchange server. These are business emails and i do need to refer back to them occasionally. When I used Outlook and i searched it would give me the option to search further on the server for older emails and only kept about 6 months work locally.

Delete speed is not a function of the size of the folder being touched - unless something other than Thunderbird is interfering. Antivirus software can do this.

Another factor is the size of your trash folder - it should be emptied periodically.
