What good is syncing if you can't get to bookmarks in the current version of android firefox?

more options

There is NO way to get to the home page, bookmarks or history in the current version of firefox!

My home page is a custom page, so, setting that means that I am locked out of getting to bookmarks or history and there is even no apparent way to create a bookmark on the android version of ff.

pardon me, but I am EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED because I _really_ needed to get to a bookmark miles from home and the new interface offers NO OPTIONS to do so. This is new behavior as this used to be possible.

I saw on option to "INSTALL AN ADDON" in order to get to the home page. This should not be necessary and makes zero sense from a programming viewpoint. These tools are a standard part of browsing and they should be available by default.

Time to abandon this platform? It's obviously not currently taking users into consideration.

If you set Firefox for Android to use a Custom home page AND to use that on new tabs, in order to access the Top Sites/Bookmarks/History panels, you need to tap the address bar. Does that work on yours?

If you don't get the expected panels when you tap the address bar, make sure they are not hidden:

menu > Settings > General Home

Under "Panels", if Top Sites, Bookmarksm, or History is grayed, tap it and then tap Show. (Repeat as needed.)

Any improvement?

To create a bookmark for the current page, tap the menu button and then the star icon.

Thanks for the response.

>> tap the address bar <<

No it does not

>> settings <<

Took me a while to spot this even with your help.

They were greyed out... probably related to one or more of the updates.

Following this the tap address bar works, but, imho, it should also work when these are greyed out.

Thanks for your response, Beverly Howard

or, at least post a dialog box explaining to the user why it does not work.

I don't know why the standard panels got hidden. It takes a lot of taps to do that. Do think it could be caused by Sync between your desktop Firefox and Android Firefox? I don't use Sync myself.

So if all the panels are disabled, there should perhaps be a link to Settings saying if you want Top Sites, Bookmarks or History, unhide them over here?

Thanks, I appreciate your help.

I've been using this platform since the netscape days and I have squandered hundreds of hours from bugzilla to feedback with zero results to date. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result, so, I've learned and I will pass.

Thanks again, Beverly Howard
