Inbox file size after offloading emails to another drive.
Hi I decided to tidy up my Thunderbird emails, I have been dragging the profile folder around for about 9 years so it had got quite big. I deleted loads and of what I need to keep I have saved them onto a different drive, I also deleted a couple of unused accounts completely. Why, when a certain inbox contains a couple of mb of emails is the profile file for that account still showing several gb? Also, why, considering I have a couple of accounts, are the profiles for them still existing?
Worth adding that all accounts are setup for POP.

Nevermind, fixed it. 'Compact' was the win.

Pop mail accounts have emails stored on computer not necessarilly on server. When you remove a pop account via Thunderbird, it disappears from the 'Account Settings' window and also from the 'Folder Pane' view, but it is not deleted from the profile folders because it allows you to regain access to that account, just in case you deleted the account by accident or if you suddenly realised you wanted to import those pop emails into 'Local Folders' so you could easilly access them again.
