Firefox update
This morning I downloaded the new firefox release update on my Windows 10. On restart I now get my wallpaper, then my signin page. It then goes to a blank screen. I've done a hard shutdown, no change. I then tried F8, no change. Looks like you've done something really bad this time! What do I do? Marti Campbell 7/9/18

Hi, Please give this a try : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.1 with a Full Version Installer
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Pleeeze try to understand, my computer is dead....how am I supposed to uninstall firefox from a black screen.
Hi, I would not know what the issue is as it is not a Firefox issue but a OS issue. Please note we are not a OS help forum but will try our best. Please follow the instructions to start Windows 10 with Networking : https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode
Once started you can choose from the menus available to you what you would like to do. Again not a dedicated OS forum so can do a System Restore to earlier time when it was working. Can do this to fix any Registry and System Files Problems, note will go online for new ones if needs it.
Use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Command Prompt (Admin).
Type or Copy/Paste the following command and press Enter:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
You can go to these places for additional help as they are dedicated respected Windows 10 Forums: https://www.tenforums.com/ https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/229/windows-10-support/

HI, I never asked for you to uninstall it I asked for you to read how to boot your computer into safe Mode with Networking.
From there I gave a couple options to try then I recommended a couple of Windows 10 Forums for Help as this is not an Firefox Issue.
Please contact the suggested forums for help with your dead computer which is actually not dead. Thank You.
Couldn't reboot F8 in safe mode. FYI Geek Squad had me power down, disconnect power and remove battery. Came back up like a charm..perhaps this is something you all could suggest if further Firefox updates like mine are posted. By the way, to one of the people who got smart mouthed with me because my computer wasn't really "dead", I was using the word as in "dead in the water" as all I could see was black screen. The snarky attitude wasn't deserved or appreciated.
@marticampbell, let's leave the problem you had with Geek Squad at geek squad. We here don't know what happened there and don't wish to be apart of that problem there. So let's stay with the problem as they resolved it. If you have complaints about Geek Squad you need to talk to their Managers about what happened there.

HI, sorry you felt that way. There was no intention that I was being snarky as you call it. I understand you were frustrated and it is difficult to follow directions doing things this way. Glad to hear your computer is up and running again. Happy Surfing.
