The exact error message is important.

Mcafee sometimes has issues like these others do at times, not often but does come up. There is security software like Avast/AVG, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate.

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. I will check out all the links soon and let you know whether I found a fix. But frankly speaking, this problem has been going on since months; I have tried multiple times and ended up resorting to other browsers that "work fine". This was the one time I decided to post a question, before giving up once and for all.

I just cannot wrap my head around the thought that these sites have billions of users, the problem is well known, almost every other browser manages to handle things just fine.

There will be a Firefox Update tomorrow, please do it from Help -->About if not notifies as may fix the issue. But am sure it is Mcafee.

The last URL that you posted (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER) - I have tried it earlier, and tried it again today. It does not have anything specific to McAfee If it is McAfee I can't do anything because it is a corporate network and I don't have the permissions to make any changes.

I will try version 60 tomorrow and see if that helps. If the fix is from below, then it will take a long time to get the IT department to get certificates for all sites that run into problems.
