Can I password protect each email account individually that I have setup in Thunderbird?

I have two (2) separate email accounts, each owned by separate users, and I would like to make sure that each individual has their own privacy and access only to their respective email account. How do I do this?

Use different OS accounts for each user. That's what they are for.
