how to export e-mails and maps in Linux mint
I want to secure all data from email before reinstalling Linux Mint and then import the same data afterwards. Many thanks for any help.

Your Thunderbird profile, which is what you need to preserve, is located at:
/home/<your base folder>/.thunderbird
Copy that and you're good to go.
But in your position, I'd be backing up all of /home. Actually, I put mine on a separate drive or partition/mount point, so I can install and reinstall the OS without touching my own data.
