Help required to get Windows 10 Cortana field to search Thunderbird e-mails just like Windows 7 Start Menu search without having to install Start Menu add-ons
Dear Community
I was wondering if you can assist to find out whether the Windows 10 search field, whether Cortana is on or off can bring up search results containing Thunderbird e-mails?
It seems as though installing a Windows 7 style start menu such as Classic Shell does this function perfectly by adding a "Search programs and files" field after clicking the start button.
However the Windows 10 search field does not bring up any results. Your assistance would be much appreciated.

That is all we know. The rest is a windows issue.
Personally I turned cortana off the day it was installed. Microsoft has enough information about me, without them recording every search I make on my PC and the web.

You would first have to enable Windows Search in Tools/Options/Advanced/General/System Integration to have the email indexed. But this has been linked to performance problems in W10, as mentioned in the 6th item here.
Yes, "Allow Windows Search to search messages" has been enabled in Tools/Options/Advanced/General/System Integration.
