Can I duplicate a tab with the form contents? E.G. As in Google Chrome.

Hello.

I was wondering if Firefox can duplicate a tab and include the form data? This can be accomplished in Google Chrome.

I read this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1130994

jscher2000 made a comment as the 6th post and mentions this idea.

In the post someone mentions an add-on to do this kind of thing. Are there any recommendations? I'd like a simple option to right-click and choose, but holding CTRL and dragging the tab is OK.

Thank you.

To briefly recap, the built-in methods that duplicate a tab with its "state" are:

  • middle-click the reload arrow button in the address bar
  • Ctrl+click the reload arrow button in the address bar (on Mac, Command+click)
  • Ctrl+drag the tab along the tab bar (on Mac, Command+drag?)

Many extensions have come and gone over the years. A search turns up these that look reasonably promising but I haven't tried them myself:

If you use the Swiss Army Knife of tab extensions -- Tab Mix Plus -- its help pages indicate that it has this feature.

Hello.

Thank you jscher2000. I went with 'Duplicate in Tab Context Menu' Extension. It works with Firefox 50.1.0. I don't know yet if it keeps all the form data.

Thanks for showing how to use the built-in methods with Firefox.

EDIT: 'Duplicate in Tab Context Menu' Extension keeps all the form data.
