How do I set how often Thunderbird checks for new email?
Is there a way to change how often Thunder Bird checks for new mail?

right click the account in the folder pane, select settings from the menu. Select server settings..
Note this well. The default is 10 minutes for a reason. Shorter times lead to incomplete mail downloads, log in failure and other issues. SOme might get away with sorter times if they have fast computers, really good internet connections and no anti virus to slow the process. but your results are in no way assured.

Thank you! I never thought to look in the accounts. I was thinking of extending it as I no longer get as much email as I used to.
