I've been locked out of my e-mails due to a POP3 User Authentication failure message. Try as I have to enter passwords, the system simply does not allow access. I have given up with on-line help as guess what ... the system requires you to sign-in in order to raise issues !!! What the heck am I supposed to do now? I'm not terribly IT literate so do not understand how I am to self-help but it seems that my blueyonder address (carlayling@blueyonder.co.uk) has been in difficulties since 3rd June. Could someone please try and help restore good order. My alternative address which seems to be working ok is carlayling51@gmail.com.

Many thanks

Carl

Chosen solution

This virginmedia site suggests that POP is still supported by Virgin on behalf of blueyonder. All the same, I'd try to set the account up again but using IMAP.

You'll need to work with your email provider to 'restore good order'. Check with them about password reset options. Once you can login to your account via webmail again, reset the password Thunderbird has remembered. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Setting_and_changing_email_passwords

No contact offered with provider other than via forum so no go. Have already deleted and re-set the password but no change to the error message nor to problem of access.

Thank you Zenos. Got in touch with Virgin in the end and they re-set the password which they had disabled for security reasons. Much obliged - all well now.
