The hardware back button does not go back to the previous app, if Firefox was opened from a link within this app (e.g. Google Search App)

I recently updated my Samsung S5 to Android Marshmallow. After doing a full wipe and reinstalling firefox I noticed that the hardware back button does not take you back to the previous app from which firefox was opened. For example I open the Google Search app, and click on a link from the search results. This opens Firefox. If I press the hardware back button on my phone, it simply closes Firefox instead of going back to the search results. On my Tablet running Android L it still works as intended. I have tested this without Add-ons as well as with them. Still the same.
