Thunderbird installs fine on my Windows 7 desktop but won't install on my Vista laptop
Like it says above, I installed ver 38.5.1 to my Win7 Pro SP1 desktop - it went on fine first time. I then tried installing to the Vista Home Premium SP2 laptop over my home network using the same installer download that had worked on the desktop. All I got was a short spinning cursor of 2-3 seconds then absolutely nothing. A couple of repeat attempts gave the same result.
Since then I have tried a fresh download from the Mozilla site, I have rebooted and tried again, and I have logged out and logged in on an Administrator account. I have even tried Rt Click, Run as Admin on the installer file from within the admin account.
Everything gives the same result - a short spinning cursor, then nothing.
Any ideas?

Hi hightails.
According to 38.5.1 release note, Windows XP cannot install 38.5.1 (I think due to new signature). Please try to download 38.5.0 from here, as Vista might be also affected.

Michael you are amazing. 38.5.0 went on first time, non-admin account just went through UAC in the usual way.
I would have tried an older version earlier, but couldn't find them on the site. Hopefully this will benefit to some other poor xxxxxx who's still stuck on Vista.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
You're welcome. :)
