Window upgrade strikes again. I suggest you try and recover your thunderbird profile data from windows.old on your hard disk. But if you have done a complete clean install, your data may wall be history.

Window updates strike again and again. My Account's labels are in complete disarray with some labels having lost their messages. As GMail.com has retained messages going back about 2 years, I though I'd start afresh in the hope that a newly installed Thunderbird could pick them up. I uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird, only to find it didn't delete the Profiles. Deleted them after making a backup and installed Thunderbird again. Now the 'Clean' Thunderbird won't run because it says the profiles are missing. Surely a new install should create new profiles. How can I install, setup anew and run Thunderbird as if I had never seen it before? In the mean time, I've reinstalled Profiles and am running the thing in a muddle as before. Far from satisfactory.
I have the same ISSUE on MAC , i uninstalled thunderbird because no one other then my colleagues were getting my emails ( other will get them if i send from my phone) so with new install i get " your thunderbird profile can't be loaded cause it is missing" now I can't use thunderbird again???????????

No you do not have the same issue on a MAC. I suggest you ask your own question.
