I'm cleaning my computer up to speed it up. I want to UNINSTALL Firefox/thunderbird Reminder. Am told to to to Tools and follow from there. NOTHING at all there....now what do I do?

Whoever told you to go to tools in Firefox or THunderbird for an uninstall is wrong. In Windows it would be at start menu, Control Panel, add/remove programs if I remember correctly.

However, removing programs and adding them back is NOT going to speed anything up. Since you are on an old XP system I suggest aggressively deleting all programs and data that you no longer need, and disable things that might run all the time like skype and weather plugins.

Also run a clean program like CCleaner (but disable its deletion of Thunderbird and Firefox application data). Get to a point where you have at least 20% free disk space. Then run drive defragment.
