When will I be able to import Eudora into Thunderbird

I downloaded Thunderbird. It gave me an option to import Eudora, but it is grayed out. When will this feature be fixed?

There are no plans to fix the feature as Eudora has been out of production for many years now. Thunderbird 31 still has the option so I suggest you use that instead to do the import.

You can get V31 here http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/31.6.0/ just select your operating system and then language

Thank you so much. I was able to import Eudora, and it updated to the new Thunderbird version. I have been using Eudora many years, but lately, it has been so bad, due to the lack of updates. I needed to get a new client, and importing my Eudora there was great. Thank you so much.

When I began using Thunderbird, Eudora importation was possible but didn't work very well. Why was the ability removed?

So after I install the old version & import my Eudora Mail, how do I transfer those mail folders into the CURRENT version of Thunderbird I'm already using? Can I just drag them from somewhere to somewhere?

When I open the old version, the popup showing my profiles for the current version appears. Which version is being opened?

I created a dummy profile and selected that one. The popup to import allowed me to select Eudora, then the word "importing" (I think) appeared for about half a second, and now the popup box is just blank. The "Cancel" button is active.

So is something happening? I expected to select which mail folders I want to import.

Activity Monitor shows Thunderbird not using CPU resources, seems to be idle.

OK its been more than an hour and nothing happening. Check times for these posts to see how long.

I see a folder structure: Eudora Import / Mail / various named folders

BUT the folders seem to be empty -- no messages are showing up in the Thunderbird pane. WTF ???

Used Eudora Mailbox Cleaner. http://andreasamann.com/MacOSX/Eudora_Mailbox_Cleaner

Make sure the filenames don't end with a question mark or it will create an empty folder.

You must have a very old version of OS X. http://andreasamann.com/MacOSX/Eudora_Mailbox_Cleaner claims to not work above 10.6.

OSX 10.6.8 is the last version of OSX that will run Eudora.
