All emails are displayed on the main page. However, starting this past week, some emails became inaccessible. They do not show a preview when I click once. And, when I double-click on those emails, they display the contact info from the last email I had looked at.

Thanks Chris. That appears to have solved the problem. However, while the problem seems to have been resolved, I get the feeling that the problem emails might have disappeared from my Inbox. Unfortunately, I didn't record the date and time of those emails prior to the repair, though they were numerous, so I can't be 100% certain that they are gone. Fortunately, none of them were very important.

If there was some sort of corruption it's quite possible that some messages are gone. Inbox is most susceptible to corruption. Therefore make sure to keep your Inbox as empty as possible to reduce the risk of losing messages. Creating backups on a regular basis is recommended as well. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Backing_Up_and_Restoring

Thanks for the backup info and the initial assistance. I already back up the Thunderbird folder regularly and store the backup disk offsite.
