Installing the Pocket Extension for Microsoft Edge

• Install - Click here to install Save to Pocket for Edge
• Turn it on - Open the Edge browser. You'll see a message at the top right corner that says you have a new extension. Click the Turn it on button.
• Add it to your toolbar - Open the ●●● menu. Then, right-click Save to Pocket, and then click the Show next to address bar button.

Using the Pocket Extension in Microsoft Edge

When you're viewing a page that you'd like to save to Pocket, just click the Pocket toolbar button to save it to your list. You'll then see a message that the page has been saved. You can also save links that you see on a web page without opening it first. Just right-click on any link and select Save to Pocket from the context menu.

Tip: If you enjoy using keyboard shortcuts, you can press Control + Shift + S to save the page to Pocket.

More Actions

Add Tags

To add Tags, type tag names into the text box and press Enter. Your tag will be saved automatically. You can also keep typing to add additional tags.

Save and Archive

In addition to saving new pages, Pocket can also be used to keep track of things you’ve already read and may want to reference later. You can Archive the page you’ve saved directly from the Microsoft Edge extension by hovering your mouse over the ●●● menu, then click Archive Page.

Undo Save

If you saved a page by mistake, you can undo it. Hover your mouse over the ●●● menu and then simply click Remove Page.

View your List

You can also go directly to your List by hovering your mouse over the ●●● menu and clicking Open Pocket.

Visit Pocket’s Microsoft Edge Extension settings to access a variety of options, including the ability to edit your keyboard shortcut. Hover your mouse over the ●●● menu and then click Settings to open this page.

When installing the Save to Pocket Edge extension, you will be presented with a message asking you to allow some permissions. Here’s a brief explanation of why they are necessary:

• Read and change all your data on the websites you visit - In order to save pages, Pocket must access the tab you have open, so that it can retrieve the URL of the page you want to save when clicked. We do not access, store, or transmit anything from your browsing history, aside from the currently open page’s URL after clicking the Pocket button.

We also require this permission in order to respond to keyboard shortcuts and display the Page Saved! notification over the web page. Pocket remains inactive while you are browsing, and only requests the current page’s URL when clicked. Afterwards, Pocket returns to being inactive. You can visit your extensions page in Edge to review Save to Pocket's settings and limit this permission to specific sites or only sites that you click to save to Pocket.

• Display Notifications - This permission allows Pocket to display notifications.
