You can connect Thunderbird with Google Calendar following these steps:
- Open the Calendar tab in Thunderbird (CTRL + 3)
- From the bottom of the left sidebar, click "New calendar"
- From the prompt asking where to store the calendar, choose "On the network"
- Type in the your email address (Gmail or Google Workspace) as the username, Thunderbird will recognize it as a Google Calendar address automatically
- Complete the Google sign in process that appears in another window
- Select the calendars you want to add to Thunderbird
- Complete the process by clicking "Subscribe" from the create calendar window
