Configure Catch-All aliases for use with Thunderbird
Setup a Thunderbird identity for each each alias you want to reply from
If you have a Catch-All Alias configured in Thundermail for a custom domain, you will have to setup an identity in Thunderbird for every alias in that domain that you need to reply from.
For example, if your Catch-All is for glamroc.com and you would like to reply as alice@glamroc.com and slade@glamroc.com in addition to the default alias for glamroc.com, you will have to setup identities for both alice@glamroc.com and slade@glamroc.com.
Here's how:
- Thunderbird app menu > Settings gear icon .
- Tap on your account, e.g.
roc@glamcroc.com> . - Tap > (also known as the kebab menu because the three vertical dots evoke a kebab > .
- Enter the desired alias in the Email address field e.g.
alice@glamroc.com. All other fields are optional, but we recommend you enter a memorable shorter name in the Your name field. - Save the identity by tapping . When replying, you can now change the From field to this identity by tapping on it.
Send email with the identities for your Catch-All alias
- When composing or replying an email, tap on the email address in the From field.
- Tap on the relevant identity.
- Write and send the email as usual.
