To use Firefox Screenshots, click on the “Firefox Screenshots” icon on the Firefox toolbar. You will now have several options to capture your screenshot:
- When you move the mouse cursor over the page, different elements of the page will be automatically highlighted. Click on the one you want to save to select it.
- Select “Save full page” from the menu in the top left corner to save the full web page.
- Select “Save visible” to save the area of the web page currently visible in Firefox.
- Drag or click on the page to select a custom region of the page that you wish to capture. You can alter the size and area to be captured using the nine marker points on the edge of the area.
- Select “My Shots” to view all of the screenshots you’ve previously saved in Firefox.
Once selected, you have three options:
- To cancel your selection, click on the X
- To download the area as a .png file, select the down arrow. The file will be saved to the same folder you use as Firefox’s default download location.
- Select “Save” to save the image to the Firefox Screenshots service for you to access online at a later date. You can access saved images by clicking on the “Take a shot” icon, and then selecting “My Shots”. By default, Screenshots are saved for 14 days, if you click on the expiry date, you have the option to change this.
By using Firefox Screenshots, you agree to the Firefox Cloud Services Terms and Privacy Notice.
If you install Firefox on another computer, you will need to ensure you copy across your Firefox profile if you wish to retain access to any saved Screenshots. You can read more about how to do this here.
