Firefox includes tools for making web searching easy with less typing.

Search engines

Firefox for Android includes built-in search for Google, Amazon, Twitter and Wikipedia.

  1. To start your search, tap the Title bar or + at the top of any screen.

    title_bar_and_tab
  2. Type your search keyword.
The list of built-in search engines appears.

    search_engines_native
  3. Tap the engine you want to use to complete your search.

    amazon_search_native
  4. The search is performed by the chosen engine and results are narrowed to that site. This example shows the result of choosing Amazon.com to complete a search for the word flowers.

Find in page

Firefox 14 for Android does not support text selection or find-in-page, but it is fixed in the latest version!

Find in Page

1. To use Find in page, tap the main menu > More and select Find in page. 2. Type the word you want to find. The word is highlighted on the screen. 3. Use the up or down arrows to move to the next instance of the word.

Test selection and Copy/Paste

Just long-tap a word to select it on a web page or within an entry field, then tap it again to copy it to the clipboard.

Select word
