Now Firefox for Android has QR Code Reader in its URL bar to allow user to load a webpage by its QR Code Scanner directly. This article will show you how to use QR Code Reader,including managing QR code in URL bar.
Note
- Mozilla has only tested the official ZXing Barcode Scanner app that works with the ZX library.
- Before you begin, install this QR Code Scanner in your device. Otherwise you can not see QR Code Reader icon in URL bar.

How to use QR Code Reader
Tap on the icon
It will automatically open ZXing Barcode Scanner app for scanning QR Code.
After scanning, you can see the web address in URL bar. Now enter to load the web page in Firefox for Android.
If you get the text after scanning, you may search that text by choosing several search engine instead of default search engine. Then enter to get the search results.
How to enable or disable QR Code Reader
Tap the menu button (either at the bottom right on some devices or in the upper right of the browser) and then select (you may need to tap first) , then select
