This feature will be available to all Firefox for Android users soon. In the meantime, try it on Firefox Beta.
Firefox for Android lets you launch your QR code scanner directly from the address bar. This article will show you how to enable this setting and scan QR codes.
Before you begin: Mozilla has tested only the official ZXing Barcode Scanner app with this feature. Install this QR code scanner app. Otherwise you won't see the QR code reader icon in your address bar.
How to enable or disable the QR code reader
- Tap the menu button (either at the bottom right on some devices or in the upper right of the browser) .

How to use the QR code reader
- Tap the address bar.
- Tap the QR code icon.
- It will automatically open ZXing Barcode Scanner app for scanning QR codes.
- After scanning, you will see the web address in address bar. Enter to load the web page.
- If words instead of a web address show up after scanning, you may perform a search using those words by choosing a search engine (or simply enter to use the default).
