The Gallery app makes it easy to view and share the photos you take with your Firefox OS device. We'll show how to that along with editing and backing them up to your computer.

View and edit pictures
- Open the Gallery app
to view all the pictures you took on your phone. Your photos will be organized by the month they were taken.
- Tap a picture to view a picture in full size.
- Swipe left or right to navigate though the gallery.
- When you find the image you'd like to work with, tap the edit button.
- From here you can adjust the exposure, crop, add a filter or a border.
- To save your edited picture, tap the checkbox button in the upper-right
. Your edited picture will be saved as a new image. The original picture won't be changed.
- When you save your edited picture, you'll be returned to the main gallery screen.
Share pictures
Firefox OS has a number of ways to share pictures.
Share a single image
- When you are viewing a single image, tap the share button.
- Select how you would like to share these images: Email, Twitter (if installed), Wallpaper, Messages or Bluetooth transfer.
Share multiple images
- Make sure you are on the main gallery screen. Tap the grid button to return to this view if necessary.
- Tap the select button at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the images you want to share.
- Tap the share button at the bottom of the screen.
- Select how you would like to share these images (Email or Bluetooth).
- If you select Email, a new message will be created with these images as attachments. For more info, see Send and manage email.
- If you select Bluetooth, you will have to pair your device with another. For details, see Share files using Bluetooth.
- Make sure you are on the main gallery screen. Tap the grid button to return to this view if necessary.
- Tap the select button at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the images you want to share.
- Tap the share button at the bottom of the screen.
- Select how you would like to share these images (Email or Bluetooth).

- If you select Bluetooth, you will have to pair your device with another. For details, see Share files using Bluetooth.
Upload photos to Facebook
For Firefox OS v 1.0.1:
- Open the Facebook app.
- Choose the Photo button at the top of the screen.
- You will be notified that you must post your photo by email. Note that email address (or add it to your Contacts app under the name Facebook photos).
- Next, open the Gallery app, find the image you want and share it with Email using the special Facebook email you noted in the previous step.
For Firefox OS v 1.1 and higher:
- Open the Facebook app.
- Choose the Photo button at the top of the screen.
- Select the image you want to share from the Gallery or take a new picture with the camera.
- If you've chosen an image from the Gallery app, adjust the crop setting and tap the checkbox button in the upper-right

Delete pictures
- When you are viewing a single image, you can delete it by tapping the trash button. Then tap to confirm.
To delete multiple images:
- Make sure you are on the main gallery screen. Tap the grid button to return to this view if necessary.
- Tap the select button at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the images you want to delete.
- Tap the trashcan button at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap to confirm.
Warning: Once a picture has been deleted, it can't be recovered.
Backup your images on your computer
- Enable USB storage:
- Find out what version of Firefox OS you have.
- For Firefox OS v 1.0.1: Open the Settings app, scroll down to the Device section and tap . Then, in the Media storage settings, enable USB mass storage.
- For Firefox OS v 1.1: Open the Settings app, scroll down to the Storage section and enable USB storage.
- Make sure your phone is on and then connect it to your computer using a USB cable.
- Once your device is connected your photo software should open automatically so that you can import your photos. If it doesn't, you'll have to open it yourself and then choose the import option.
