Make Firefox your default browser

If you have more than one web browser, your computer needs to know which browser to use by default. This article will show you how to make Firefox your default browser.

  1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and select Settings (select Preferences on older macOS versions).Click the menu button Fx89menuButton and select Settings.
  2. Select the Advanced panel, click the General tab, and then click Make Firefox the default browser.

  3. Close the Settings page. Any changes you've made will automatically be saved.

  2. In the Choose default apps screen, scroll down to Web browser.
  3. Tap Choose a default under Web browser.
  4. Choose Firefox from the list of Other options.
  5. Tap the X to save your changes and close the window.

Note: To set another browser as the default, use the settings in the browser you wish to be your default.
