  3. Select the Default, on or off for automatic updates.

Can I update the legacy add-ons?

If your add-on is not "compatible with Firefox 57+" which is labeled as Legacy in the Add-ons Manager tab, you can not update it, starting in Firefox version 57 (will be released in November 2017).

After legacy add-ons migrated to WebExtensions by own developers, they will be re-enabled to use and update - see Firefox add-on technology is modernizing.
