Note: Pocket services have shut down on July 8, 2025. Pocket integration with desktop Firefox was removed in Firefox version 140 and in Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) versions 115 and 128. You can export your saved items until November 12, 2025, before they are permanently deleted. To learn more, see this article.
Pocket for Firefox lets you easily save a variety of Web content such as blogs, news sources, webpages and videos, with the click of a button. When you open a new tab in Firefox on your computer, the New Tab page will display Pocket recommended stories that feature the best content collected by other Pocket users. Recommended by Pocket storiesPocket Thought-provoking stories on the Firefox New Tab page is a feature currently available in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Germany, Italy, France and Spain. We're working to bring it to other countries.
If you don't want to see Pocket stories in Firefox, you can easily hide this content. (These instructions apply to Firefox on your computer. For mobile devices, see this article instead.)
- Click the cogwheel
icon in the upper right corner of the New Tab page.
- In the menu that appears, click the toggle
to switch it off

- If you're enjoying these recommendations but simply do not want to see sponsored stories, just uncheck the checkbox.
- Click to finish.
Tip: Another way you can hide Pocket content is from the Firefox settings panel:
- In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click and select (select on older macOS versions).Click the menu button
and select .
- Select the panel.
- Deselect the checkbox in the Firefox Home Content section.
