How do I manage my Persona account?

Login pop-up window appears blank or doesn't appear

In some particular cases we have found that the login box pops up empty without the required content to log in. In those cases, simply close the pop-up window and try again. If this still doesn't work, try to load your Firefox Browser in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to ensure that no add-on is blocking it.

I forgot my password

In the unfortunate situation that you have lost your password, you can retrieve it by clicking "forgot your password?" link on the login box.

  1. Introduce the email you use to log in to BrowserID
  2. Click Reset Password
  3. Go to your email inbox and search for an email with "Complete Login to browserid.org using BrowserID" as a subject
If you can't find it in your email inbox check in the Spam and/or wait a couple of minutes
  1. Click in the provided link
  2. You will be prompted with a new window to reset your password
  3. Introduce your new password in the second box
  4. Repeat the new password in the third box and press Finish
  5. You can use the new password to log in

How to use a different identity

If you want to use a different email account than the one that you are using, you can sign out from the actual account and sign in with a new or you can add a new email to your BrowserID account. To do so, follow this instructions:

  1. Click on the Sign in button in your favorite site. (for example http://myfavoritebeer.org)
  2. In the sign in window, select "Use a different email"
  3. Introduce your new email and press "next"
  4. Go to your email inbox and search for an email with "Complete Login to browserid.org using BrowserID" as a subject
If you can't find it in your email inbox check in the Spam and/or wait a couple of minutes
  1. Click in the provided link
  2. You now should be logged with your new identity

One of the email address in my account is not mine.

If after you clicked login, the windows prompts and gives you the option to select an email address that you no longer own you can delete it by following these simple steps:

  1. Type https://browserid.org/manage in your Awesomebar.
  2. If you are not logged in, click Log In in the top right corner.
  3. Use your BrowserID username and password and click Log In
  4. In the Account Manager page click Edit
  5. Press Remove next to the email address that you want to remove from your account
