The Mozilla VPN provides an encrypted tunnel to the web from any software or app on your computer or mobile device. By connecting to the Internet through another server, you will hide your real location and throw off data collectors who could profile you based on your location. For example, if you're in California and you choose a server in Sydney, Australia, data collectors will think you're connecting from Sydney.
The first time you launch Mozilla VPN, it will automatically select a server near your location within your country. You can also change servers at any time and choose from over 30+ countries. To do so:
- Open Mozilla VPN.
- Sign in with your Firefox account (only required the first time you access it or if you are not already signed in).
- Click the
- In the Select location option, make sure you have the single-hop tab selected.
- Next, select between Recommended and All servers.
- The Recommended servers option will suggest the best performance locations based on your site.
Note: The icon
next to the server shows you the expected performance when connecting to a given location.

- The All servers option allows you to search for a specific location to connect.
Note: Connecting to a server geographically distant from your actual location might cause slowness in your Internet connection.
