Hi there,

It sounds like you are experiencing a scientific study called a Sheild Study. They are given to small populations of users that have opted in to data collection in Firefox. This allows developers to get real feedback before a new feature is decided to ship to everyone in the next version.

You can read more about the opt in data collection [Share telemetry data with Mozilla to help improve Firefox]

These studies are active due to an option in your settings that you opted into. I want to reassure you that these studies are making Firefox better for it's users.

If you would like, you have the option to opt out of these studies, though we are sad to see you go.

  1. Type about:preferences#privacy into the address bar.
  2. Remove the checkmark next to Allow Firefox to install and run studies.
