Firefox Nightly Error Collection

This collection is only enabled for Nightly. Firefox, Firefox Beta, and Firefox Developer Edition do not collect these errors.

Firefox Nightly automatically collects and sends Mozilla information about JavaScript errors that occur within the browser itself (not on web pages). We use this information to quickly find and fix problems with Nightly and deliver a better experience for you.

The data we collect includes technical information about the error, such as where the error occurred in the Nightly codebase. It also contains an error message, which potentially could include personally-identifiable information.

We protect your privacy by ensuring that your individual data will not be shared to the public or sold. Only a small number of developers will have access to the data.

By participating in this collection, you will help us to find bugs and improve Firefox! You can choose not to participate by opting out (see below):

How do I opt out?

To opt out of browser error collection:

  1. Click the menu button Fx57Menu and choose OptionsPreferences.
  2. Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Nightly Data Collection and Use section.
  3. Uncheck Allow Nightly to send browser error reports (including error messages) to Mozilla.
