Learn how to download and access files in Firefox for Android.

How to download a file

To download a file, such as a .pdf file

  1. Tap on a download link.
  2. A download confirmation will appear, this will show the file name and size.
    Tap the Download button to confirm you want to download the file.

  3. When the download is finished, the "Download completed" message will appear.
    Tap the Open button to view the file with some app installed in your device.

To download an image

  1. Tap and hold on the image you want to download.
  2. Select Save image.
  3. When the download is finished, the "Download completed" message will appear.
    Tap the Open button to view the image.

Access downloaded files

This feature requires Firefox for Android version 81 or higher. See Update to the latest version of Firefox for Android to learn more.

To view files that were downloaded in Firefox for Android:

  1. Tap the menu button android menu icon
    Menu button - Template:menupreview
  2. Tap download icon 57Downloads.
    A list of files that were downloaded on Firefox for Android will appear.
  3. Tap a file in the list to open it.
