Note: Pocket services have shut down on July 8, 2025. Pocket integration with desktop Firefox was removed in Firefox version 140 and in Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release) versions 115 and 128. You can export your saved items until October 8, 2025, before they are permanently deleted. To learn more, see this article.
Pocket is a feature that's built into Firefox. You need to have a Pocket account in order to save articles with the Pocket button, which is found in the Firefox toolbar.
This article explains how to remove the Save to Pocket functionality in Firefox.

Disable Save to Pocket for Firefox
To turn off the Save to Pocket functionality in Firefox, follow these steps:

- Type about:config in the address bar and press EnterReturn.
A warning page may appear. Click to go to the about:config page. - Type pocket in the Search box.
- Click the Toggle
button next to the extensions.pocket.enabled preference to toggle its value to false.

Re-enable Save to Pocket for Firefox
- Type about:config in the address bar and press EnterReturn.

Hide the Pocket button in your toolbar
When Pocket is enabled, a Pocket button appears in the toolbar whenever you're on a page that can be saved. You can remove the Pocket button from the toolbar without disabling Pocket. Right-clickHold down the Control key while you click the Pocket button(or right-click the button) and click on .
Restore the Pocket toolbar button
If you removed the Pocket button from the toolbar and you later want to bring it back:
- Click the menu button
