Pocket is a Firefox feature built into the toolbar and bookmarksaddress bar and Library menu. If you prefer not to use Pocket for Firefox, follow these steps to disable it.
Remove Pocket from your toolbar or menu
Removing Pocket from your toolbar or menu will disable it:
- Right-click on the Pocket icon

Re-enable Pocket for Firefox
- Click the menu button The image "new fx menu" does not exist. and select .
- Drag the Pocket icon to your toolbar or menu.
- Click to save your changes.
Disable Pocket for Firefox
- Type about:config in the address bar and press EnterReturn.
A warning page may appear. Click to go to the about:config page. - Type pocket in the Search box above the list of preferences.
- Double-click the extensions.pocket.enabled preference to toggle its value to false.
Re-enable Pocket for Firefox
If you want to re-enable Pocket, do the following:
- Type about:config in the address bar and press EnterReturn.
A warning page may appear. Click to go to the about:config page. - Type pocket in the Search box above the list of preferences.
- Double-click the extensions.pocket.enabled preference to toggle its value to true.
Note: If you just want to remove the Pocket button from the Firefox address bar without disabling Pocket, you can do that as follows:
- Click the Page Actions (three-dot) menu button in the address bar.
- Right-clickHold down the Control key while you click the entry.
