Disable or re-enable Pocket for Firefox

Pocket is a Firefox feature built into the toolbar and bookmarks menuaddress bar and Library menu. If you prefer not to use Pocket for Firefox, follow these steps to disable it.

Remove Pocket from your toolbar or menu

Removing Pocket from your toolbar or menu will disable it:

  1. Right-click on the Pocket icon Pocket button.
  2. Select Remove from Toolbar.

Re-enable Pocket for Firefox

  1. Click the menu button The image "new fx menu" does not exist. and select +Customize.
  2. Drag the Pocket icon to your toolbar or menu.

  3. Click Exit Customize to save your changes.
  1. Type about:config in the address bar and press EnterReturn.
    A warning page may appear. Click Accept the Risk and Continue to go to the about:config page.
  2. In the Search field, type in extensions.pocket.enabled (you can copy and paste it from here).
  3. Double-click on the extensions.pocket.enabled preference to toggle its value to false.

Re-enable Pocket for Firefox

If you want to re-enable Pocket, do the following:

  1. Type about:config in the address bar and press EnterReturn.
    A warning page may appear. Click Accept the Risk and Continue to go to the about:config page.
  2. In the Search field, type in extensions.pocket.enabled (you can copy and paste it from here).
  3. Double-click on the extensions.pocket.enabled preference to toggle its value to true.
