Disable credit card syncing across devices

Firefox Sync lets you access data such as Bookmarks, History, Logins and Passwords, and Credit cards on other devices when you are signed in with your Firefox account. To disable sync for sensitive data like credit cards and prevent purchases on a shared device, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and select Preferences.Click the menu button Fx89menuButton and select Settings.
  2. Click Sync in the options to the left.
    • In these settings, you can choose what items to sync across devices when you logged in with your Firefox account.
  3. If syncing is ON, then you're syncing the items that appear in the panel.
  4. Click Change… to open the Choose What To Sync dialog.
  5. Uncheck the box next to Credit cards to stop syncing credit cards across devices.

  6. Click Save Changes.

Additionally, you can disable credit card autofill to prevent Firefox from filling in your credit card information on the device where your credit card information is saved.

We recommend users to create a Firefox account for each member of the family and to sign out every time to prevent credit card information or other sensitive data from being exposed.
