You can set your New Tab page to show a search bar, your most visited sites, recommended and highlighted stories or nothing at all. To access these controls, click on the cogwheel icon in the top-right corner of the new tab. Learn more about these controls here.

Customize your New Tab page
Click the cogwheel at the top right corner of the New Tab page.
- Put a check mark next to the settings you want to see:
- Search: turns the search box on or off on the New Tab page.
- Top Sites: shows sites you visit the most.
- Put a check mark next to Show two rows if you'd like to see an additional row of Top Sites.
- Recommended by Pocket to see stories that are popular among Pocket users.
- Highlights to see pages you've visited or bookmarked recently.
- Snippets to see stories from Mozilla.
Blank New Tab Page
If you prefer a blank page:
Click the cogwheel at the top right corner of the New Tab page.
- Remove all check marks to hide all sections from your New Tab page.
Show your top sites
Click the cogwheel icon on the New Tab page and put a check mark next to

To remove all sites from the New Tab page, select
.Disable New Tab controls
To hide everything on the New Tab page, including the New Tab controls (or to choose the page that opens in a new tab) you can install the New Tab Override (browser.newtab.url replacement) add-on.
