What are Tiles?
When you open a tab in Firefox, you’ll see nine rectangles that each link to a different website. These are called Tiles.
As you browse the web, the sites you visit most recently will start to appear in these Tile==s, letting you to get to where you’re going just a bit faster.
What are Sponsored Tiles?
When you download Firefox for the first time, you haven’t built up any history of sites in Firefox yet. So, Firefox gives you a few tiles already filled in with suggestions we hope you’ll like! Sometimes we’ll show a website we think is useful or a project or cause that you might find interesting. A few of these tiles, called Sponsored Tiles, show content from hand-picked websites that we partner with to help support Mozilla’s mission. The sponsored tiles are marked with this icon: so you’ll know which are which!
