How Can I Double Click to Upload Files?

I have to first select the file, and then click the open button. Before the latest Firefox update, I could simply double click on files to upload. This workflow was much faster. If I go to '''about:config''', and search for: '''widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.file-picker''', I can change the value from 0 to 2, and then I can upload files by double clicking. However, then Firefox forgets my last upload location, and always opens in the home folder. If I set it back to 0, it remembers my last upload location, but I can't double click to open files.

My current version of Firefox is 149.0 (64 bit) Mozilla Firefox for Arch Linux Arch Linux - 1.0 I am running this on two computers, a laptop and a desktop, both running Arch Linux, currently at 6.19.10. I use the laptop much more, and recently noticed that I cannot upload or download files with Firefox. No file selection window opens and the request is simply ignored. Nothing appears in my Downloads folder. Meanwhile, I also noticed that this function works just fine on the desktop computer. I don't remember making any settings changes. I do have popups generally disabled but can enable them for certain sites.

Nope. Since 147 Firefox supports the Freedesktop.org [https://specifications.freedesktop.org/basedir/latest/ XDG Base Directory Specification]. The XDG Base Directory specification lays out where application data files, configuration files, cached assets, and other files and file formats should be positioned within a user's home directory and the XDG environment variables for accessing those locations. To date Firefox has just positioned all files under ''~/.mozilla'' rather than the likes of ''~/.config'' and ''~/.local/share''.

Multi-account containers and Mozilla VPN

Using Mozilla VPN (Flathub version 2.39), Firefox Multi-account Containers won't let me assign a location per container as it did with the APT version - instead, under each container config it just says "Get Mozilla VPN" on a blue button. But it does use the old config I had (so my old "US" container still exits in the USA, for instance). This occurred on my old Ubuntu 24.04 system, using Gnome desktop; and also now on my new KDE system (Plasma 6.7.4) even if I tweak "configure permissions" in Discover to allow access to everything. Any help gratefully received!

Sending Tabs to a Linux Desktop causes that Desktop to freeze

Whenever i send a Tab from any Device to a Linux Desktop, the Linux Desktop is almost guaranteed to freeze. It doesn’t matter if that Linux Desktop is my "Dingus" PC with 2GB RAM and Wayland, or my "Workstation" PC with 16GB RAM and X11. On both Desktops, Firefox runs smoothly until it gets sent a Tab from another Device, then the whole Linux Desktop freezes. The Desktop doesn’t slow if i open the Tab on the Desktop in the “Tabs from other Devices” Sidebar instead. Only my Linux Desktops freeze when they get sent a Tab from another Device.
