Except where noted, everything here applies only to Firefox 146 and the Firefox 140.6 ESR. Firefox 140 is the current ESR, so, going forward, no enterprise changes will be backported to Firefox 128 ESR.

Firefox Support for Organizations

We are introducing Firefox Support for Organizations. For more information, see this blog post.

Other Changes

  • The version number, architecture and language were removed from the Windows uninstall registry key in order to improve compatibility with third-party tools. This was done in bug 1995769. This does not apply to the ESR.
  • Firefox Labs can now be enabled regardless of the status of the DisableTelemetry or DisableFirefoxStudies. This was fixed in bug 1972647. This does not apply to the ESR.

Bug Fixes

  • When the DisableProfileImport policy was set, you could still import data in Firefox View. This was fixed in bug 1993863.
  • User choice was not maintained when using the DisplayMenuBar policy. This was fixed in bug 1996449. This did not affect the ESR.
  • The DisablePasswordReveal policy stopped working at some point. This was fixed in bug 2001459.

Policies

  • The BrowserDataBackup policy has been added to allow for the enabling or disabling of profile backup and restore. This does not apply to the ESR.

Special Notes

We are extending Firefox 115 ESR support for Windows 7/8 and macOS 10.12/10.13/10.14 users until March 2026.
