Memory Leak in Mac.s Post with apparent STR and gzipped about memory reports [Resolved Bug 937878]
-
We have had quite a few reports of Memory leaks on Mac.s.
For once this looks like a good example to file a bug on.
This one is from a clean profile and in safe mode and it appears heap unclassified increases but drops back to normal when windows are unminimised. Is anyone else able to reproduce this or comment on whether this is likely to be appropriate to file a bug. Or can anyone see why this may in fact be expected and normal behaviour ?
My thoughts before suggesting a bug be filed is to
- Check with some other single site, in order to prove this is not site specific.
- Maybe suggest trying to reproduce whilst browsing sumo
- I think it was only a five minute test.
- This may be more clear cut as a definite leak if tested for a longer period to see if the memory usage continued to increase.
The thread is
- Firefox on OS X 10.9.1 still has huge memory leak (/questions/981674) /questions/987722

I have posted additional test results, including the same problem seen on different webs sites, back on the original thread.

Good Result.
Problem Identified as a known Firefox issue fixed in Firefox 28 and resolved by using Firefox Beta.
Thanks to MacKnickKnack for pointing out the problem, and then troubleshooting the problem, and for Alice for researching the Memory Bugs & suggesting the workaround.
