  1. Sooo...

I used to work for a radio at one point in my otherwise shady past ;-)

Being raised a metalhead, I soon discovered that there's way more to listen to than riffs and shouts (even though I do like it until today).

I'm always curious about new music that people listen to and I don't know yet.

Can you post some links to music you like here? Please stick to legal sources, though :-) Thanks!

I will start with Mr Adam Shaikh, a great Canadian world traveller, whom I had the pleasure of meeting this summer. His mixes made the whole party boat we were on go really wobbly :-)

  2. Another day, another music post ;-)

    https://trifonic.bandcamp.com/album/emergence-2

I haven't met the Trifon brothers yet, but their debut album contains a lot of intriguing sounds, including the unforgettable Parks on Fire. They worked on that track for a year and a half! (well, with breaks for sleeping and eating, I guess ;-) any maybe other real-life things, too)

As always - waiting for your music and your stories about it!

  3. And here we go, another day, another piece of music for your listening pleasure ;-)

Now, this is a random find... or, should I rather say - I found the project through their other albums (quite different), and then I found this release... Quite fitting for the last days of summer / first days of autumn.

  4. Another day, another tune ;-)

I have to admit I have a soft spot for 80s pop music, simply because it was so... good!

I mean, just listen to this: no, you're not getting rickrolled here !

The fun part is that the vocalist joined the group after interviewing them... I wish that happened to me when I was talking to some of my favourite bands in the past.

  6. You can't go wrong with 80's music!

What other decade could produce country new wave? And how do you localize "yippee kai yay"?

  7. @ideato - Thanks! Still, you didn't share anything! *huff*

@Joni - You shared something! Whoa, my life will never be the same now. I'm *not* going to ask how you encountered this little gem... :-)

My pick for today is.... Tycho! Those are the guys I've seen as my last concert in Dublin, before moving out. Sniff. On the other hand, I don't miss that gig that much, because there was no air conditioning in the venue, and that day was particularly hot and humid (yes, even Dublin has those, sometimes).

Anyway, their music has a few (bassy) undertones from 80s coldwave, but is mostly full of sun, oceans and that particular light you get when you use software filters on your mobile phones for photo post-production ;-)

  8. Monday requires some Monday-compatible tunes, right?

It's easy to go from one click to another... so, one day I was looking around for music related to The Glitch Mob (which I found through another musician I follow here and there; the internet is a small place!), and I happened to find about R/D. Warning, the video may cause a bit of a headache to those of you not used to kaleidoscopes ;-)

  9. May I join your monologue?

I really wonder who's going to win at the end... you or.... the silence? ;)

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Pump the volume up after 3:47 :D

  11. @CAKCy - this is not a monologue! I invited people at the very start to share - thanks for doing so :-) A classy tune right there :-)

@Andrew - for some reason, YT is blocking this in Spain, but I remember it well enough to replay it in my mind ;-) Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!

...aaaaand, for Tuesday, something less electronic and more guitarrific. A long intro there, so if you want to skip, here's the start of the song. Matt Johnson surely knows how to write a great, timeless song, and he's got loads more of them out there.

  13. Thank you, Andrew! :-)

We've had some nasty spam attacks in the last few days, and this apparently may require some good spam-stomping music to power up the cleaning....

So, here are two classics from the golden era of PC gaming :-) UT 99 and Deus Ex.

@philipp - can't be the classics! @ideato - one those all time greats I still have to get into... @Andrew - thanks for keeping us in touch with modern music

For my Friday / weekend drop, I am going to propose an artist that almost everyone who went to cinema in 1999 knows, but not that many people know he actually had a great album aside from "that one song that everyone knows" ;-) Here's Rob Dougan.
