Google needs to update the Google Toolbar program for Firefox 5.0.
The Google Toolbar '''7.1.20110512W''' version does work pretty good in Firefox 5.0 by using the Compatibility Reporter extension. But not every feature works 100%.
I disagree for the following reasons:
* This issue is already fully treated in [[Add-ons are disabled after updating Firefox]] that shows up as #2 in "Google toolbar" search results.

Digressing from the subject of a new KB regarding Google Toolbar compatibility. What about posting such info as off topic threads in this forum it is a quick dirty and simple method of aggregating currently useful info. (so if anyone thinks it worthwhile maybe start a thread about that)
It is easy to start a thread and entitle it "Google Toolbar compatibility" it could become a useful temporary resource/reference. Hopefully GT compatibility is only a temporary problem, but currently does get quite a few questions in say SUMO(I have not tried counting)

Problem is, a normal search doesn't bring up threads in discussion forums so I don't see how a "Google Toolbar compatibility" thread in the Off-Topic forum would help much.

Oddly enough, [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/search?q=%22Google+Toolbar+compatibility%22 searching on "Google Toolbar compatibility"] doesn't bring up [[Add-ons are disabled after updating Firefox]] ... it brings up a single thread:
'''@ Scoobidiver''': would adding the keyword "compatibility" to the [[Add-ons are disabled after updating Firefox]] article help with that? The word "Compatibility" is already part of the article.
Followup: scoobidiver revised the article for keywords but it didn't help. What I discovered was, searching on [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/search?q=+Google+Toolbar+compatibility Google Toolbar compatibility] '''without quotes''' brings up the [[Add-ons are disabled after updating Firefox]] article as the first hit.
If the phrase "Google Toolbar" isn't in the title of the article, users won't click on it. Period.
There are now over 400 duplicate thread on the support questions forum.

The reason that there are 400 duplicate threads is that the search results on the AAQ flow are totally busted. We've made fixing that a priority. (Bug 635099)
I just edited the search summary of Add-ons are disabled after updating Firefox to include "Google Toolbar" so that when it shows up in a normal sumo search you'll see those words in there. I also don't think that people are not looking at the article because Google Toolbar is not in the title. The views on that article are up 1500% since the Fx5 release. But as a last resort we can turn part of the article into a template and drop it into a new article with Google Toolbar in the title.
I also just went through the forum and added my own answer that point to the article in the top 6 or so threads and then marked the first solution in each one as solving it. So now when you look at the forum, all of the top google toolbar threads are solved.

The Google Toolbar certainly installs after the compatibility add on is installed.
However it disappears again when you log out, result, you have to reinstall the compatibility add on again, then reinstall Google Toolbar.
How long before you fix it? Would also point out that quite often just lately, the toolbar goes, and when check add on, get message, compatibility add is disabled, so back we go to stage one.

Hi leilton, Google no longer maintains the Google Toolbar for Firefox. Just follow Google's recommendations: http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/bin/answer.py?answer=1342452&topic=15356
Locking. The Google Toolbar extension will not be made compatible for Firefox 5 and above. A proposed new article about the Google Toolbar is being discussed here:
