Hi folks,
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Ask a Fox – Firefox 150 Edition last week. I had a lot of fun (especially from getting to meet some of you during the Community Virtual Hangouts). What we accomplished together is truly impressive and it really shows what this community can do when we rally around a shared goal.
What we achieved together
Last week, we set out with an ambitious goal: get as close as possible to answering every question in the forum.
By the end of the week, we reached 91.8% reply rate (a nearly 19% jump from the week before). That means hundreds more users got the help they needed, faster.
Across platforms, the impact was clear:
- Firefox Desktop reached 90.9% reply rate
- Firefox for Android climbed to 95.2%
- Firefox for iOS reached 100% reply rate! That means, every single question received a reply
Behind those numbers is a huge amount of effort. Over the course of the week, the community posted 1,008 replies (a 38% increase) and interacted with 748 threads, up 35% from the previous week.
We also saw meaningful improvements in quality and speed:
- Forum helpfulness increased to 80.68% (+19%)
- The solved rate increased to 18.95% (+22.7%)
- The average time to first reply dropped by almost 60% to 9.31 hours
Taken together, this means not only were more questions answered, but users were getting help more quickly and more effectively.
To celebrate this, we’ve awarded:
What stood out
One of the biggest highlights: we brought new people in and brought people back to the forum at the same time.
Among contributors who posted 2+ replies, nearly 40% were folks who hadn’t been active the previous week. The majority of them were contributing for the first time, while the rest were returning contributors.
That’s a strong signal that the event can both re-engage past contributors and bring in new people in and we should keep building on that.
We also welcomed new contributors who made their very first replies during the event. Please join me in welcoming these new shining stars:
What’s next
The event may be over, but the momentum doesn’t have to stop.
If you enjoyed jumping in last week, there are still plenty of questions waiting and every reply continues to make a difference. Also, keep an eye for another Ask a Fox event coming up next!
We’ll also be following up with our top contributors and top newcomers soon with details on their swag vouchers, so keep an eye on your inbox if you’re among the top performers! (;
Thanks again for all your energy and dedication and let’s keep it going!
