  2. Hi all,

We have a new issue (presumably caused by the update) when Google displays CAPTCHA to users who are not signed in (?). It should be enough to pass it once though, and it will not show up again until the cookies are cleared. While the issue is investigated, let's just collect the questions here:

  3. A new issue: ChatGPT is being unresponsive/unusable. See bug 2010712.

The issue is related to the compression dictionary support, introduced in Firefox 147, and currently, there are two good workarounds:

    • Set network.http.dictionaries.enable to false.
    • Enable "Install and run studies". The reason this works is that the pref has already been set to false via a study (because of bug 2009774), but if you have studies disabled, you will never receive this "fix".

Meanwhile, the developers are working on a fix, and I'll post an update once we have more info. It's likely that a dot release is issued, disabling the pref at the code-base level (see bug 2010739).

PS If someone has free time and inspiration to update the wiki page, you're welcome :D

  4. Also, I'm seeing a lot of confusion around Firefox Backup (from users who don't have it available yet). See this thread for details, and please move such questions to backup-data (or flag them to moderators, if the topic is incorrect).

  5. To follow up on the ChatGPT issue, an update (v147.0.1) has been released to set network.http.dictionaries.enable to false for all users, while the team is working on a proper fix for the feature.
